On the Fly programming option:

The OTF programmer allows users to adjust Speed, Acceleration and Regen (No regen adjustment on a Series cart).
The user can adjust these settings while driving the cart.
Why is this important?  If you need extended range, it is terrible for a cart to reduce speed using the pedal.  When you run half throttle a DC set up will run hotter.  With the Navitas OTF knobs you can reduce top speed to 50% and the actual mapping program in the controller will change.  So therefore your DC equipment will run cooler when adjusted through the knobs vs reducing pedal press.

    Just received and installed the NAVITAS 440a-600A. Excellent service from start to finish with ordering, shipping and communicating. I appreciate the technical support prior to ordering and during installation. Excellent company and excellent product.

    Service is important to me, and price of course. I emailed Plum Quick one evening for an opinion regarding the Navitas 440 and 600 amp controllers since I was unsure which I should get. I received a response 1st thing in the morning and they really detailed what would work in my older G29 cart depending on which model of the factory controller I had. I also learned the 440 and 600 amps have the same speed – it’s just more “takeoff power” with the 600. So I ordered the 440 on a Thursday and it was shipped that afternoon and received on Saturday! And the price… it was the cheapest and/or matched the cheapest with it’s competitors. I went with this company because of the customer support. I was able to get our cart up and running by Saturday afternoon. It bolted right up to the existing mounting bracket. The only modification was one wired had to be cut and a new end installed (provided) and I replaced the 3 bolts with shorter ones (or you can just trim the bolts in half if you have an angle grinder or hacksaw). At first, I did not think this controller was all that different and was a tad disappointed and realized my batteries were depleted. I charged it and when I moved the cart, I said “holy chit” out loud as I was surprised by the acceleration I wasn’t expecting! My cart has woken up and drivability is awesome compared to the stock controller. I am sure when I replace my tired batteries, it will be even better. One thing I did to improve the cart is I adjusted the switch on the gas pedal to engage sooner so I don’t need to push the pedal down so far to get a response. This was easily done by using the app via blutooth and I could see not only the throttle %, but the voltage as well. I made sure it said “0” before tightening the switch. The blutooth app is pretty cool and I think it would make troubleshooting easier in the future. I did also get the adjustment on the fly box and it’s great that I can tune it down. I still have the stock motor so I don’t want to burn it up yet… but I will be getting a new motor in the future and I think it would really compliment the controller. All in all – awesome company to do business with and the controller kicks butt compared to the stock Yamaha G29 one. The upgrade is a no brainer considering the stock one is about the same price.
